Curiosity leads to Innovation

At our San Antonio preschools, we believe that children will be champions for tomorrow because we give the tools and opportunities to become innovative, creative problem solvers. Through our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, we encourage children to explore their interests, ask questions, and think critically about the world around them. Moreover, our teachers facilitate projects that are child-led and inquiry-based, allowing children to investigate, experiment, and discover. Subsequently, this fosters a sense of curiosity and a love of learning that prepares them for future challenges. Additionally, our pre-k children learn to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and respect others’ opinions, promoting social and emotional growth. By nurturing their unique talents and strengths, we help children become confident, compassionate, and competent individuals who are ready for the challenges of tomorrow.

Childing Building Relationships at Brighton Preschool

Relationships matter

Building relationships is important for a child’s social and emotional development. At our preschool, we know relationships matter because they create a sense of belonging and connection. When children feel a sense of connection with their teachers and peers, they are more likely to feel safe, secure, and supported in their learning environment. This, in turn, helps to build their confidence and self-esteem, as well as their ability to regulate their emotions and behavior. Strong relationships also promote positive communication skills, empathy, and respect for others, all of which are critical for healthy social and emotional development. By fostering positive relationships, we help pre-k children to develop the social and emotional skills they need to build strong relationships throughout their lives.

No Limits.
Only Abilities!

At our inclusive preschool, we believe that all children have unique abilities, talents, and strengths that deserve recognition and celebration. Furthermore, we believe that every child has the potential to learn and grow, and we strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment that fosters their development. We recognize and embrace the diversity of our students and their families, and we strive to create a culture of respect, acceptance, and understanding. By promoting inclusion, we ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate fully in our pre-k program, regardless of their background, abilities, or needs. In short, we celebrate diversity, and we believe that by working together, we can create a brighter and more inclusive future for all children.

True Grit

At our San Antonio preschool, we believe that grit is an essential quality for success in life, and we work to help our children develop this quality. Through our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, we encourage children to explore and experiment, taking risks and learning from mistakes. What’s more, we help them to understand their own strengths and challenges, and to develop resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. We create an environment that not only challenges pre-k children but supports them, and where they learn to push themselves to achieve their goals. By fostering a sense of grit in our children, we help them to develop the determination, self-discipline, and perseverance they need to succeed not just in school, but in all aspects of their lives.

Brighton Preschool is the place where champions for tomorrow are growing, discovering, and playing.

Developing Passion Through Discovery

At our preschool, we believe that the arts are an important part of a child’s education and development. We embrace the arts by providing opportunities for children to explore music, dance, visual art, and other creative expressions. Through our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, we encourage children to express themselves through the arts, helping them to develop their creativity, imagination, and self-expression. Furthermore, we expose them to master artists and musicians, providing them with inspiration and exposure to different styles and genres. By embracing the arts, we help our pre-k children to develop an appreciation for different forms of expression, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development. We believe that the arts play a vital role in helping children to become well-rounded individuals. That is why we commit to providing them with opportunities to explore and develop their artistic talents.

Brighton Infant Class

6 weeks to 18 months

Infants are born curious and ready to learn. They can develop basic cognitive skills, language, and communication, social-emotional skills, physical abilities, and a love for exploration. Moreover, a nurturing and safe environment with opportunities for sensory experiences, exploration, and play can support infants’ growth and development. Teachers can foster infants’ natural curiosity by providing rich experiences that encourage exploration, bonding, and self-regulation. Therefore, by providing infants with a supportive environment that meets their developmental needs, teachers can help them learn and develop the skills that will lay the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

One to Two Year Olds Playing with Toys

18 months to 3 years

Our transition classroom is specifically designed for children leaving the infant/toddler stage and transitioning into full-on preschoolers. Unquestionably, children in this class are full of energy and eager to learn about new things. Hence, the classroom provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Toddlers have opportunities for play, exploration, and learning through hands-on experiences that are developmentally appropriate. Concurrently, teachers should support children’s emerging language and communication skills, encourage self-regulation and empathy, and foster a love for learning. Finally, the classroom is designed to meet the needs of toddlers, with child-sized furniture and materials that are accessible and engaging.

Young Boy Playing with Blocks at Brighton Preschool

3 years to 5 years

Preschool is a crucial time for 3 and 4-year-olds to learn and develop important social-emotional, cognitive, language, and motor skills. Therefore, in our San Antonio preschool classroom, children learn to share, problem-solve, manage emotions, and form positive relationships. Language and literacy skills are developed by recognizing letters, sight words, and engaging in early reading and writing activities. We build cognitive skills through hands-on learning activities that include cause-and-effect relationships, problem-solving, and memory. Without a doubt, we may get a bit messy! Children develop their gross and fine motor skills through activities like drawing and climbing. Last but not least, our pre-k teachers help children explore their own creative expression through art, music, and dramatic play. These experiences and activities set a foundation for future learning and success.

Kindergarten Readiness Program
Year before kindergarten

Transitioning from preschool and pre-k to kindergarten is a tremendous milestone for both children and parents. The goal of our Kindergarten Ready program is to prepare your child to enter kindergarten with the academic, social, and developmental skills necessary for success and to give parents peace of mind during this time of major change. The kindergarten readiness program prepares 5-year-olds for school readiness by focusing on language and literacy skills, mathematical concepts, social-emotional skills, cognitive skills, science and social studies, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills. Simultaneously, we introduce the concepts of scheduling and routine-based activities, both of which can make the transition to kindergarten easier.

In Brighton Preschool’s Kindergarten Ready class, your child will acquire the full breadth of skills necessary to enter kindergarten successfully, eager, and ready to learn. Additionally, with your child in this program, you will give them the confidence of the best start possible. The kindergarten readiness program provides hands-on learning and exploration, ensuring school readiness and setting a strong foundation for lifelong success.
